TEAM OFARC - The History

The team was set up in 2000 by Father and Son, Jon and Dax Ward. Dax has always been crazy about motorsport but never really had the chance to partake in it. Jon used to race and be a test driver in the 60's and 70's. Motorsport is a drug and Jon yearned to get back into it. After looking at many different race series they both decided on the Jedi chassis. They entered the first race at Brands Hatch on a cold, damp November weekend. Team OFARC was then born.

In 2006 a good friend of Dax, Marc Fortune, joined the team and was quick from the start. Today Dax and Marc do all the driving and have a good support team around them.

2012 Season

For 2012 the team will continue to race in the MSVR Monoposto championship which for 2012 is sponsored by Dax company St Cross Electronics.

Dax Ward, team owner and MD of St Cross Electronics stated. "We are very happy to be able to sponsor this championship. Our business in motorsport is rapidly growing. We are not just a manufacturer, we design and engineer whole projects. One of the greatest attributes about this championship is that individuals can engineer their cars and there are some very good engineers out there racing, from F1 to Aerospace. So this championship really suits our own business ethos."

Titan Motorsport also provide support and product trials with their range of products, and of course Zoë Timbrell who has been, since last year, the teams race engineer.

The team missed out on winning the championship in 2011 due to a few engine problems for Dax early on in the season. His season was always going to be cut short with the birth of his second child in September. So to win it, he needed to have a dnf free half a season and really win most of those races. Marc went really well the first half of the season, then had a few mechanical gremlins appear from August onwards. Dan is driving a lower specified engine but still produced a string of podium finishes that he will hope to build on in 2012.
